Sunshine Coast Wedding venue
The Magic of the Alsahwa Estate in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland
Recently I visited Alsahwa Estate in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with my husband and daughter. We were simply spending a quiet afternoon exploring the property, but of course I couldn’t help seeing it through the eyes of a photographer.
Tucked away in the hills near Palmwoods, Alsahwa Estate feels peaceful, spacious, and incredibly beautiful — the kind of place where time slows down a little.
While wandering the property, it was easy to imagine how beautiful a wedding here would be. The open landscapes, the gardens, and the natural light create such a dreamy setting for couples wanting a relaxed and intimate celebration.
As a documentary photographer based on the Sunshine Coast, I’m always noticing how spaces hold light and movement. Alsahwa Estate has that rare combination of coastal architecture and natural, lush surroundings, which means every part of the property feels photographable.
The Sunshine Coast hinterland is filled with incredible wedding venues, but Alsahwa Estate truly feels like a hidden gem. It’s peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature — perfect for couples who want a celebration that feels meaningful and relaxed.
A true highlight of the property is Alsahwa Estate’s Mediterranean-inspired restaurant ēthos which "invites you to indulge in farm-to-table dining, where every dish is crafted with fresh, spray-free ingredients, harvested straight from our gardens and sourced from local farmers." They have an aperitivo hour from Wednesday-Sunday, 2:30-5:00pm where you can try cocktails like their Espresso Martini or a variety of Spritz. The restaurant has gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options, as well as a kids menu, which we will absolutely be utilising once our baby girl starts eating more food.
If you're planning a wedding or elopement at Alsahwa Estate, I would absolutely love to document your story there.
